  1. A thoroughly delightful book is Wildwood dancing. There is mystery and faeries and romance and intrigue and a wicked man who must get his due. :) It is written by Juliet Marillier. I had never heard of her before, but now the library will give up all of her books to me :)

  2. Plus, I want a blog on my absolutely favorite book of the last decade: The Beekeepers Apprentice, by Laurie R. King.!

  3. Wildwood dancing?!? I just started reading that, I think. Is one of the characters a frog? I have just started and can't remember the characters names and don't know much about the plot yet so don't spill any details.

  4. I would do a post on The Beekeeper's Apprentice but the plot is a little obscure for me to do much of anything but read it. Have you read A Monstrous Regiment of Women yet? It's the sequal to Beekeepers Apprentice and the plot is even more obscure but it is a good book.

  5. well. Yes about the frog. How did you find the book? I came across it by accident at the library and just love it. I am reading the first in another of her series, now, called The Dark Mirror. I am saving the sequel to Wildwood dancing because I loved it so much I want to save the sequel so that it is not over too soon :).
I did read a Monstrous Regiment of women. It was an enjoyable read, but my Laurie R. King all time favorite will always be the Beekeepers apprentice. To date I have read it 3 times and listened to it on tape around 7 or 8. It is the relationship between Holmes and Russel, and their jokes and interactions that I find so enjoyable. Laurie King is a good storymaker!

  6. THERE'S A SEQUAL TO WILDWOOD DANCING?!?!?!?!?
What's it called? I just finished Wildwood dancing. It was GREAT, I found at least three different fairy tales mixed into it, The twelve dancing princesses, The frog prince, and either Tam Lin or some other one I can't remember the name of.

  7. Is The Dark Mirror the name of the series or the name of the book?

  8. The sequel (or companion book) to Wildwood dancing is cybel something or other. It is in the trunk of my car. The dark mirror is the first in the Bridei series.

As for doing a blog on the Beekeepers Apprentice consider this: you don't need to understand a book completely to blog on it. Part of blogging is asking interesting questions. If the book is somewhat puzzling figure out what you want to know, and consider the question thoroughly :)

Being able to ask good questions is a rare art!

  9. Has anyone read Diane Duanne's Young Wizard series? The first book is called So You Want To Be A Wizard. It's a really good series.
